BRANCH & NETWORK CONFERENCE
THE PRINCE HOTEL HONG KONG
Nov. 18-21, 2015
Personally, I have always enjoyed our annual conference and this is one of the few things that I always look forward to, because not only did I get to see different places but also, this is the best time to take a much needed respite and break from my normal everyday life. Although this was not exactly classified as a vacation trip, having time to socialize and share ideas with my colleagues has always been a delightful experience for me. In the whole course of my career at OAC, this was the first time that a conference was held out of the country. Thus, we went to Hong Kong last Nov. 18-21, 2015. Despite the APEC event in the country, we were able to push through with our scheduled conference, but not with a few setbacks… but thank God we all made it to Hongkong.
Since all of us came from different provinces, everyone was buzzing with excitement. We departed from NAIA around 8:00 in the morning and touched down at Hong Kong Airport 2 hours later. Upon seeing the view, it immediately reminded me again of my first visit to the city back in the year 2009. Quite frankly, I enjoyed the place. With a spectacular harbour, the colonial culture & heritage of the British colony and the rich culture of the Chinese, Hong Kong is definitely the hardest to leave and the easiest to revisit.
When we arrived at the Prince Hotel by Marco Polo located at Harbour City, we were overwhelmed with the accommodation. Our tour guide, the Cotoco Family introduced us to various delicious Chinese cuisines which we really enjoyed. Day 1 & Day 2 was our conference. And at the end of each conference, there was always a sumptuous dinner waiting for us. After dinner, some of us spent the time strolling and shopping around Kowloon area while some of our colleagues visited Disneyland & bought souvenirs from the Night Market in Mongkok. Despite the short & busy schedule, we were able to do last minute shopping during our last day.
Overall, Hong Kong was indeed a priceless moment for all of us. The scenic views, skyscraper buildings and the culture of the city will no doubt be missed.
Thank you so much to the management of OAC for always providing us with the best experience every time we hold our conference. Your efforts are truly appreciated.
